Welcome to Les-B-Beautiful!

This blog is dedicated to confronting and dismissing the false stereotypes that haunt lesbian women of color. Here is where the truth will be sought. Here is where learning and growing can begin. If one looks back, one can see how far lesbians have come. There was a time when one could not think of speaking or writing about two women being together. There was a time when you could be jailed for loving someone of the same sex. There was a time when you could be killed. And yet, here I am today devoting an entire blog to issues that concern lesbian women of color. Lesbians no longer have to sit in their closets. They are  bravely coming out and demanding that society adapt. They have even entered mainstream media. And the new media takeover, people like me, are pushing lesbianism even further. New media tools, such as blogging, social networking, and video blogging, all help to further the lesbian agenda. Now people do not have to feel as if their sexuality makes them an outcast. They now have somewhere they can go to friend or read about people just like them. Thanks to new media, sites like this are easy to create; and, its even easier for others to locate lesbian-friendly sites. Society's outlook on lesbianism has come a long way, however lesbians still have a lot more to accomplish. This is my way of helping society to progress. It may be small, but sometimes the smallest actions have the largest effects. So as you read, hopefully some of you may be inspired to act and get involved in the lesbian agenda. But even if this blog does not compel you to act, you reading this begins the process of truth-seeking.
